Kakobuy shipping lines: the gap between the dearest and lowest quote
Choose a route that accepts the actual parcel before comparing prices. The 10 October 2026 examples below illustrate price, eligibility and quoted timing differences; they do not predict today’s cheapest route or arrival date.
Choosing the shipping line
- At stake on the reference order
- US$14.73 on a 1,000 g US parcel: US$38.07 against US$52.80, read 10 October 2026.
- The part you control
- Which line you book, how you describe the goods type, and whether the parcel clears a line's weight floor.
- Where it trades places with the next lever
- For the UK, Germany and France the 1 kg gap was US$38 to US$48, enough to put this lever first.

Reading the official shipping quotes for one parcel
Kakobuy's estimator is public and needs no login. You choose the destination, enter the weight in grams, pick a goods type and, optionally, the box dimensions. It returns every line it can quote with a price, a transit range and a block of notes. Our readings use 1,000 g of ordinary goods, the default goods type, on 10 October 2026.
Three habits make the readings useful. Enter the packed weight, not the sum of product weights, because packaging adds grams. Enter dimensions for bulky parcels, since every US line on our reading said length, width and height were needed for an exact price. And read the notes before the price; that is where batteries, liquids, returns and address rules live.

The estimator's own disclaimer says lines not run by Kakobuy are provided by third-party logistics companies that adjust prices with the market. A reading is good for the day you take it.
United States: the low-price shipping line and the tax-free line
On 10 October 2026 the lowest bookable US price for 1 kg was US$38.07 on Cosmetics Air Express (Battery, Liquid), quoted at 11-17 days. One step up, the USPS Tax-Free Line (Battery Accepted) was US$39.28 at 7-13 days. For US$1.21 more you got a quoted transit four days shorter at both ends and a line described as duty-free.
That pair is the most useful lesson on this page. The lowest price is not automatically the lowest cost once time and customs exposure are counted, and two lines a dollar apart can differ by a week.

The full US list ran to US$52.80 for the EMS duty-free route at 5-17 days. HK UPS was US$49.79 at a quoted 2-6 days.
Weight floors: the lines you cannot book yet
Two US lines, ups-Tariffless Line-electrified at US$39.18 and UPS Duty-Free (No Batteries) at US$39.28, were greyed out with the note that the parcel weight should not be less than 2,000 g. In the UK, HKUPS required at least 2,501 g and UK Line-B (>5kg) at least 5,001 g.
A heavier combined parcel may satisfy a weight floor, but it must still meet contents, dimensions, destination and maximum-weight rules. Use the actual expected measurements; adding an item purely to cross a minimum can cost more than choosing a suitable lighter-parcel route.

Two captured UPS entries show inconsistent timing: a 2–6-day field and notes saying 10–15 working days. Neither is a guaranteed arrival date. Ask which estimate and counting convention apply before using the route for a deadline.
Shipping line gaps in five countries on the same day
We read the estimator for five destinations on 10 October 2026, all at 1,000 g of ordinary goods. The table gives the lowest and highest bookable price in each, leaving out greyed lines that need a heavier parcel.
On a small screen, scroll the table to compare every column.
| Destination | Lines | Lowest bookable | Highest bookable | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | 13 listed | US$38.07: Cosmetics Air Express (Battery, Liquid), 11-17 days | US$52.80: EMS duty-free route, 5-17 days | US$14.73 |
| United Kingdom | 16 listed | US$15.76: UK HG dedicated line PT, 7-19 days | US$60.29: HKUPS-T, 2-14 days | US$44.53 |
| Germany | 18 listed | US$22.96: Europe DHL Line (Express Line), 8-12 days | US$61.04: HKUPS, 5-10 days | US$38.08 |
| France | 17 listed | US$25.96: DPD Line-electrified, 9-20 days | US$74.01: HKUPS, 5-10 days | US$48.05 |
| Poland | 16 listed | US$23.42: HKUPS-T, 7-13 days | US$38.26: DPD Line-electrified, 9-20 days | US$14.84 |

The highest prices in Europe are mostly HKUPS lines with short quoted transit. Nobody books those by accident, so the gap you actually face is usually smaller: between the line you would pick without comparing and the lowest line that suits your goods. That is the figure the calculator asks you for.
US tax-free routes and the EU per-category customs fee
Two announcements shape this lever. In April 2025 Kakobuy said it would provide tax-free routes for US users, that non-tax-exempt routes require you to clear customs yourself, and that tax-free routes cost approximately $5-10 more per package than conventional USPS.
Kakobuy’s notices dated 23 June and 1 July 2026 described its own EU duty-inclusive route and subsidy arrangements. They are historical operator terms, not independent confirmation of current customs law. Check the selected route’s current duty wording, exclusions and any documents the recipient must provide.

Insurance, delays and what a low quote leaves out
The captured optional-insurance article lists eligible delay compensation of 20% of freight after a route-dependent 30- or 40-day threshold from shipment, plus separate customs-hold and loss/damage cover. Claims remain subject to route criteria, exclusions and insured-value caps. Recipient-caused failures and listed events such as weather or conflict can be excluded. Save the policy and claim record; a late scan does not guarantee compensation.
Line notes carry the rest of the hidden cost. On our readings several lines said there was no return to China, only redelivery from an overseas warehouse for a fee; German lines required the address down to the house number; one US line warned that tracking would show nothing for about five days after shipment.

Other countries on the official quote page
The UK reading started at US$15.76 for the UK HG dedicated line PT (7-19 days) and US$17.47 for the UK Air Freight Direct Line (Economy, 6-12 days). France started at US$25.96, Poland at US$23.42 on HKUPS-T. Each country has its own line names, so the only reliable habit is to run the estimator for your own address.

Next lever down: Top-up channel, worth US$12.57 on the reference order
Compare quotes that describe the same parcel
Use the same destination, item restrictions, actual weight and packed dimensions for both quotes. Read the volumetric divisor, billing increment, cover and delivery-area exclusions. A cheaper quote with different eligibility or liability terms is a different service, not an automatic saving.
If the parcel is for a fixed event
Separate the event date from the carrier’s estimated transit range. Seller dispatch, warehouse handling, waiting for other items and destination clearance can all sit outside the short range displayed beside a line. A faster quoted route does not remove those earlier dependencies.
Confirm stock and current warehouse status first. If the order is still waiting for a seller, compare whether buying locally or changing the order meets the need better than paying more for international freight. Priority purchase changes purchase handling; it does not guarantee seller stock or an event-date delivery.
